Mindset / Day 2: Call Out the Inner Critic

Day 2: Call Out the Inner Critic

Reclaim Your Inner Cheerleader

If you’ve ever had a voice in your head whisper,
“You’re not good enough.”
“Why even bother?”
“Someone else would do it better.”
—you’ve met your inner critic.

Spoiler alert: We all have one.
The trick isn’t trying to silence it. The trick is learning to recognize it—and replace it.

Today, we’re going to call out that voice for what it is: outdated programming that’s ready to be rewritten.

Why Your Inner Critic Shows Up

Your inner critic isn’t evil.
It’s usually a defense mechanism—an attempt to keep you safe from failure, embarrassment, or risk.

The problem?
It often overcorrects, keeping you stuck in fear, self-doubt, or endless procrastination.

To move forward, you don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to notice when your critic speaks up—and choose a different story.

Today’s Mini Challenge: Rewrite One Limiting Belief

Here’s how to shift the script today:

  1. Listen for Your Inner Critic.
What negative thought pops up most often lately?
(Example: “I’m terrible with money.” or “I’m not smart enough to start investing.” or “I always mess things up.”)
  2. Write It Down.
Be specific. Naming it takes away half its power.
  3. Challenge It.
Ask yourself: Is this 100% true? (Hint: It never is.)
  4. Rewrite It.
Flip the script into a new empowering belief.
(Example: “I’m learning how to manage money smarter every day.” or “I’m smart enough to figure anything out with practice.”)

Example:

  • Old Story: “I’m too far behind to ever catch up financially.”
  • New Story: “Every smart move I make today sets me up for a stronger future.”

Mindset Shift for Today:

“I am not my fears. I am the author of my next chapter.”
